Caring for your pets doesn’t have to be overwhelming. As a veterinary technician, I see firsthand how small daily habits can make a big difference in your pet’s health and happiness. Here are five simple tips you can start today:
Check their teeth regularly 🦷
Dental disease is one of the most common health issues in pets. Lift your pet’s lip once a week to look for red gums, tartar, or bad breath. Brushing a few times a week helps prevent problems down the road.Keep nails trimmed ✂️
Overgrown nails can cause discomfort or even injury. If you’re unsure how to trim them safely, ask your vet or groomer for a demonstration.Provide fresh water daily 💧
Sounds simple, but hydration is key for organ health. Make sure water bowls are cleaned and refilled each day.Watch their weight ⚖️
Obesity is a growing issue in pets. Feel around their ribs — you should be able to feel them without pressing hard. If not, talk to your vet about diet and exercise changes.Schedule regular check-ups 🩺
Even healthy pets need wellness exams. Annual visits can catch problems early and keep your pet on track for a long, happy life.Small changes at home = big improvements in your pet’s well-being.
